BOOK OF LISTS 2015-2016 Welcome 4 HartforD business Journal • December 28, 2015 www.HartfordBusiness.com HBJ Book of Lists: A resource of business intelligence T his year Hartford Business Journal has refreshed its annual Book of Lists, with new lists and features as well as an economic forecast section that will help inform the region's business, civic and nonprofit leaders as they plan and strategize for 2016. As you comb through the 49 lists included in this year's book, you'll notice fact boxes have been added to more than a dozen pages. In an attempt to provide more context and insight to a few of our lists, the fact boxes highlight significant changes that occurred in some of our rankings and data. You'll also notice six new lists, including financial advisory firms, bioscience companies and commercial contractors, among others. In addition, prominent local, regional and national economists and business executives provide economic forecasts covering various industries including real estate, health care, banking and finance, and education. We'd like to thank all of our contributors to the publication. Their invaluable insights will help shed light on where Connecticut's and Greater Hartford's economy is headed in 2016 and beyond. For a third straight year, we also asked readers to pick the cover of our Book of Lists through an online poll. The effort is part of Hartford Business Journal's goal of finding ways to engage read- ers both in print and online. The cover — a photo of the Hartford skyline in watercolor — was one of three designs voted on by HBJ readers. Our sincere hope is that you will use this book as a reference guide, a one-stop shop business resource.
