BAKER GOVERNOR KARYN E. POLITO LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR September 22, 2015 Dear Friends: On behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I send congratulations to the Worcester Business Development Corporation for celebrating 50 years of success in Worcester and the surrounding towns. Through their commitment to serve as an innovative and leading force in the economic development of the City of Worcester and the region, the Worcester Business Development Corporation has created over 7,000 jobs and expanded the annual tax base by over $28 million over the past 50 years. From Gateway Park and the Voke Lofts in the North Main area, to The Hanover Theatre for Performing Arts and the Theatre District Master Plan for downtown, the WBDC has had a role in many of the projects that make Worcester so remarkable. In 2015, the WBDC celebrates the successes of the City both past and present, and looks toward the future of the City and region and what the next 50 years will bring. I commend the WBDC for their dedicated efforts toward improving the community by expansion of the tax base and creation of jobs. We look forward to the next 50 years of development in the Worcester region. Please accept my best wishes for continued success. Sincerely, Karyn Polito Lieutenant Governor OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS STATE HOUSE ● BOSTON, MA 02133 (617) 725-4000 CHARLES D. BAKER GOVERNOR KARYN E.
