While these "fruits of our labor" offset expensive grocery store bought items, they also are used in La Cocina, our culinary training kitchen and Freshplace Food Pantry. We need gardeners/gardening groups at 3 of our locations. • Families Feeding Families: Your company/department/ team can sponsor a nonperishable item each month (ie: pancake mix, pasta sauce, etc) and collect up to 50-100+ units to be used to supplement the fresh vegetables & fruits at Freshplace. • Making Ends Meet: Making Ends Meet is a program dedicated to helping families and individuals in the greater Hartford area who are suffering from devastating medical and/or financial situations. The goal of the program is to provide monthly non- cash assistance that enables a struggling individual or family to stretch their limited resources further. Helping someone to "make ends meet" eases an emotional and financial burden for the recipient, and brings fulfillment to the volunteer who knows that their contributions are making a real difference in someone's life.
