www.wbjournal.com November 23, 2015 • Worcester Business Journal 3 Every morning before I get out of bed, I jump on my iPad to check in with work emails, quickly browse a few news sites and make sure all is well with the Worcester Business Journal. At the office, I am glued to my lap- top, emailing staffers and freelance writers near and far, surfing the web for information to stay one step ahead of the competition. The whole time, I am checking the production status of our next issue, editing stories and making sure everything is presented nicely for the printed page. Back at home in the evening, it is more of the time to kick back, maybe with a magazine or two, reading some longform stories that provide the depth and insight that today's quick-hit online journalism can't provide, as well as the beauty that only print can present with photos, graphics and open space. To the industry's great detriment, nearly all publications did not adjust well to the digital age, never figuring out how to marry the print and online worlds. Today, some have figured it out, but a disappointing number are feeling their way through the dark without a well-defined plan. Worcester Business Journal used to be at the forefront of the digital age, being one of the leading business-to-busi- ness publications on social media and using its web site to augment the print edition for our audience. As the digital landscape has changed, WBJ will once again be at the fore- front of the business-to-business information industry, delivering to our readers the exact news when, where and how they want it. Under this renewed focus, I am pleased to announce Staff Writer Sam Bonacci has been promoted to WBJ digi- tal editor. Bonacci has done great work for our print edition -- and will continue to do so, particularly in the areas of real estate and banking & finance -- but he will now use his considerable digital talents to help propel WBJ back to the forefront of the publishing industry. This is one big step in several changes that you will see coming to WBJ -- both digitally and in print -- over the many upcoming months. Stay tuned for more exciting news as we continue to navigate the ever-changing pub- lishing world. - Brad Kane, editor This Week In The WBJ Worcester Business Journal (ISSN#1063- 6595) is published bi-weeky, 24x per year, including 5 special issues in April, July, September, November and December, by New Engand Business Media. 172 Shrewsbury St., Worcester, MA 01604.
