The MassWorks grant will have $2 million going towards the final steps of cleaning up 10 acres at the former Garbose metal recycling site. The 10-acre commercially zoned site with frontage on Route 68 will be ready for redevelopment by summer, accord- ing to Gardner Mayor Mark Hawke. The property abuts an existing shop- ping center (Timpany Plaza) and is a quarter mile away from a Walmart in Gardner. Electric vehicle ramp-up Framingham office building sells for $1.1M The office space at 929 Worcester Road in Framingham has sold for $1.1 million, according to New Dover Associates Real Estate. The multi-tenanted building was built in 1963 and contains 18,258 square feet of office space on two floors. It is located on the westbound side of Route 9 near Edgell Road. AAMLAX LLC purchased the property from CARU Framingham LLC. The sale was handled by Scott R. Hughes, president of New Dover Associates of Framingham, and James Gordon and Peter Gordon, principals of Gordon Real Estate. Worcester home sales jump 34 percent Worcester led the way in a surge of home sales across the state that saw the city surpass all other cities with 34.5 percent year-over-year growth, accord- ing to a report from The Warren Group. September home sales grew by 25.3 percent across the state when compared to Sept. 2014. This is the strongest September since 2005, according to the group, with 5,430 single-family homes sold in September in Massachusetts, compared with 4,335 in September 2014. The strong September sales continue the momentum of the year, with 2015's 40,461 single-family sales representing 10.1 percent growth over the 36,739 sales through September 2014. Condo sales were also up across the state. AMSC revenue rises on wind; secures $3.7M contract Power grid and wind energy equip- ment manufacturer AMSC of Devens said that revenue was up in its second quarter on the back of additional wind contracts and a $3.7-million govern- ment contract modification. Second-quarter revenue for the com- pany was $19 million, compared with $12.5 million for the second quarter of 2014. AMSC's wind division was partic- ularly important in driving the revenue rise, the company's statement said. However, the company reported loss- es of $7.7 million or 57 cents per share. This was down from $25.4 million, or $3.12 per share, for the same period of fiscal 2014, the company said. Micron products expands sales force Fitchburg-based Micron Products Inc. has expanded its sales organizations with two high-level appointments designed to grow its contract manufac- turing, the company announced. Micron is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Arrhythmia Research Technology Inc., which produces medical devices through precision machining and injec- tion molding. RDW group acquires TWS Group RDW Group has absorbed TWS Group of Portland, Maine, into its Boston-based iFactory division, the company announced recently.
