Summit mobilizes for pipeline inspections in central Maine Summit Natural Gas of Maine told the Maine Public Utilities Commission it has "mobilized all available resources" to inspect and replace pipe fi ttings in seven central Maine communities. e Kennebec Journal reported that an Oct. 15 compliance fi ling with the PUC follows a commission order that requires Summit to check more than 600 electrofusion couplings that connect segments of pipeline in the company's network. Matthew Kaply, Summit's direc- tor of regulatory aff airs, told the paper that the company will focus on Augusta and Waterville and prioritize areas with a concentra- tion of residential and commer- cial customers. e company says the system is safe, but the PUC required the work to be done after it discovered this summer that a coupling was installed incorrectly. Harvey Building Products opens Augusta warehouse Waltham, Mass.-based Harvey Building Products recently opened its second Maine location at a former PepsiCo warehouse in Augusta. e manufacturer and seller of windows, doors and porch enclosures held a ribbon-cutting at its new Augusta warehouse, at 80 Anthony Ave., the Kennebec Journal reported. e company, which has a showroom in Portland and 34 facilities between Pennsylvania and Maine, sells its building products directly to contrac- tors in residential and light commer- cial markets, according to the paper.
