Starting Up
Ray Lighting helps large meeting
spaces like churches upgrade complex
lighting structures to more efficient
compact fluorescent light bulbs. The
company received a $10,000 Entrepre
-
neur Innovation Award from CTNext
to develop a prototype LED module to
retrofit into existing light fixtures.
Save Money
The price for the LED module will
depend upon the specific meeting
space. Aside from saving money
on electricity, the LEDs require less
maintenance and last longer, mean-
ing the meeting spaces won't have to
hire specialists to change them out
as often, as the lighting fixtures tend
to be in high, hard-to-reach locations.
Save the Environment
LEDs require 10 percent of the watt-
age of a typical incandescent bulb to
produce the same amount of light.
They also don't get as hot, saving on
cooling costs.
