But that work was already underway. With the opening of
an expanded behavioral health unit at the hospital's Natick
campus last year and a renewed focus on recruiting, execu-
tives at MetroWest Medical Center had begun to rewrite
MetroWest Medical Center's fortune. By June 30 of this
year, the hospital had turned a profit of $9.6 million, well
ahead of the $2.75 million loss the hospital faced midway
through fiscal 2014. So far this year, the hospital is the
most profitable in the MetroWest region, according to state
data, and that's after just six months, compared to the nine
