SERVICE LOCATION(S) Cumberland and York counties 2016 GOALS During the coming year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine is committed to: f Increasing the number of children served by both our Community-Based and Site-Based Programs f Focusing on recruitment of Bigs and Littles and conducting strategic outreach to specifi c areas f Enhancing communications strategies to supporters, friends and program participants through all available channels f Generating necessary operating funds through a well-planned and diverse funding development eff ort FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine will host the following fundraising events throughout the year. Contact us at (207) 773-5437 for more information and to get involved. f Oct. 24, 2015 – Laser Tag Tournament for teams of fi ve. Corporate team building prizes for winning teams and for best costumes. Beer, soft drinks and food served. Pepperell Mill, Biddeford from 6-9 p.m. f March-April, 2016 – Bowl for Kid's Sake. Form a bowling team with friends or at work and raise money for BBBS! Bowling at many diff erent lanes throughout Southern Maine. f April 29, 2016 – Bids for Kids Auction. Southern Maine's best charity auction. A wide variety of items from high-end vacations and art to fun stuff for the kids or your home will be up for auction. Buy a table, bring some friends, donate an item and have fun! Holiday Inn by the Bay, Portland from 5:30-10 p.m. f June and September, 2016 – Fore the Kids Golf Tournament. In June, play e Woodlands Country Club in Falmouth and in September play e Cape Neddick Country Club. Two-ball, best ball format makes for a very competitive tournament. Great prizes including a trip to Ireland. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine is 100% dependent on private funding to support our programs. We do not take state or federal funds. Businesses, foundations, individuals, special events and the United Way comprise all of our annual revenue. Businesses can support our programs by sponsoring fundraising events or making tax deductible philanthropic contributions. Individuals can contribute anytime by visiting our website or calling us at the offi ce. We send an annual appeal request by mail each fall. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine would not be able to meet our mission without Big Brothers or Big Sisters. We are 100% reliant on our volunteer "Bigs" to provide the mentoring that our "Littles" need. We ALWAYS need Bigs. In addition, we regularly need volunteers to assist with our events and at our offi ce. Our Board of Directors are all volunteers and there is need annually for participation.
