It Only Takes One One person to read the ad One person to make the time One person to care One person to show another way This ad was made possible through the generosity of Cousins Maine Lobster. Meet Sabin, a former Little Brother, now a Big Brother, now a BBBS Board Member, now a co-owner of Cousins Maine Lobster and now a co-founder of his own charitable foundation ( Cousins for a Cause ) He is BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS. Concerned about his future, Sabin's mom enrolled him in Big Brothers Big Sisters. After more than 2 years of waiting, he was finally matched with Steve Lacovara, a 22-year-old member of the coast guard, now a Major in the US Marine Corps. "If Steve had not come into my life at the time he did, I don't think I'd be where I am today. When I was being recruited to play college soccer and basketball, my father never showed up to my games. But Steve was at every game, sitting alongside my mom and offering me the guidance and support I needed. He was the Big Brother I never had and we are closer than ever today. I had the honor of being in Steve's wedding and he named his first son Anthony Sabin. I am as much a part of his family as he is of mine." Finding himself in a position to pay it forward, Sabin signed up to be a Big Brother in 2013. "I was paired with Lawrence and our bond was immediate and continues to strengthen. He's a great kid. I feel lucky to have him in my life. I could have gone either way as a child, and I want to help kids at that same precipice. I only hope I can be half as effective for Lawrence as Steve was for me."
