FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES GIVING OPPORTUNITIES For 61 years, MDA has partnered with the heroes of our country, our International Association of Fire Fighters, to raise money and awareness for families living with muscle disease. Fill the Boot fundraising events are held all over the state of Maine at various times of the year. When a firefighter is holding up their boot to collect money, they are collecting for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. ank you to the Professional Fire Fighters of Maine for their continued support and partnership. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES If you are 17 or older, you are invited to apply and join the MDA team as a summer camp volunteer. You can join us for the "Best Week of the Year" and make a difference in the life of a child as a: ere are multiple volunteer opportunities in preparation for and during fund- raising events. MDA is the world leader in funding ALS Research. f Equipment – MDA's loan equipment program provides gently used durable medical equipment to individuals to enhance mobility, independence and quality of life. f Advocacy – encourage and facilitate active involvement of people with neuromuscular diseases in the community at large, as well as be an effective voice for the hundreds of thousands of Americans served by MDA through representation in matters of public policy and research advancement. f Shamrocks Against Dystrophy is a timely themed St. Patrick's Day holiday promotion that inspires pride in associates and encourages friendly interaction with customers. Shamrock mobiles are sold to customers and patrons for $1 and $5 contributions. f The MDA Muscle Walk pays tribute to and raises funds for children and adults served by the Muscular Dystrophy Association. e walk is a family-oriented gathering and light exercise for everyone — children, adults, grandparents, students, corporate teams and more. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. f The MDA Lock-Up is a community event that is a unique and fun way to help local children and adults who live with muscle disease.
