Forty-five banks headquar- tered in the state posted $338 million in combined profits in the first half of this year, according to June 30 data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., a key overseer of both of state- and federally chartered banks. A year earlier, they posted $297 million in first-half profits, FDIC data shows.
