The Morse Stroll, a commemorative walking path surrounding Elm Park in Worcester, was dedicated to honor Dr. Leonard Morse, former commissioner of the Worcester Division of Public Health. Dr. Morse, who retired in 2011, served as a president of the Worcester District Medical Society and its parent organization, the Massachusetts Medical Society. Athol Hospital was recognized as a Platinum-Level Fit-Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association for helping employees have healthier eating and physical activity options at work. GVNA Healthcare of Gardner was among 186 Massachusetts companies to receive a portion of a $1.4- million grant from the Workforce Training Fund Grant. Grant proceeds are to provide customized employee training to spur cost savings from higher productivity. Milford Regional Medical Center was recognized by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association for its commitment and success in treating stroke patients, as well as for meeting guidelines as a "primary stroke center." Clinton Hospital received the Coverdell Stroke award from the Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Program through the Mass. Department of Public Health. The program is funded by the federal Centers for Disease Control. Meanwhile, Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester received the Defect- Free Care Award from the Coverdell program. The award recognizes hospitals that provided defect- free care, based on specific clinical guidelines to at least 85 percent of stroke patients in 2014. Southbridge-based Harrington HealthCare opened its new urgent care center, UrgentCare Express, at 10 North Main St. in Charlton. The center provides walk-in medical care for non- life threatening illnesses and injuries. Spectrum Health Systems, based in Worcester, opened an outpatient treat- ment center at 40 Spruce St., Leominster. The center offers medica- tion-assisted treatment and counseling services. Spectrum also opened its New England Recovery Center, a 36-bed pri- vate residential substance abuse treat- ment facility on its Westborough cam- pus. The center will provide onsite detoxification and inpatient treatment with a focus on opiate addiction recov- ery. Marlboro Animal Hospital at 441 Lakeside Ave. in Marlborough, has cele- brated its grand opening after a recon- struction and renovation. PTFitstyle has opened at 359 Littleton Rd., Westford. The nutrition coaching and personal training studio is owned by Tina Marcoullier. Veterinary Dental Services LLC will move to a newly constructed facility at 540 Massachusetts Ave. in Boxborough by Veterinary Dental Services is owned by Dr. Bonnie Shope of Westborough. Sudbury Wellness is open at 344 Boston Post Rd. in Sudbury. The yoga and psychotherapy practice is owned by husband and wife Ben McLellan and Lauren O'Sullivan. The Heywood Hospital Heart and Vascular Center is officially open at 242 Green St. in Gardner. The new space includes a cardiac rehabilitation gym for patients. Family Health Center of Worcester has renovated, reopened and renamed its dental suite, now the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Dental Suite. The expansion of dental services is part of a $9.1-million expansion of health servic- es at the center, which serves low- income and culturally diverse residents. Feiz Muscular Therapy and Fitness has relocated to Meadowbrook Plaza, at 360 West Boylston St., Ste. 212, in West Boylston. The practice is owned by Farzin Feiz of Worcester, a licensed massage therapist and certified correc- tive exercise specialist.
