Do you recognize the American Heart Association in your community?
We are the nation's teacher when it comes to heart and stroke health. We're there every time a
friend, family member, or loved one receives CPR. We did that. We're there every time a
newborn receives the simple Pulse Ox screening before leaving the hospital to check blood
oxygen levels that aid in detecting a possible life-threatening
heart defect that could go
undetected. We did that. We're there every time you visit a smoke-free bowling alley, restaurant
or pub. We did that. We're there every time you visit a grocery store and read the food labels as
a consumer resource. We did that. We're there every time you, a loved one or friend has heart
surgery, receives an artificial valve, a pacemaker or a cardiac stent. We did that.
