The proceeds of this event benefit the Health and Wellness Initiative of The Bridge, which provides activities to educate and promote healthy behaviors around nutrition, physical activity and tobacco recovery among individuals served. There is also a group focused on employee initiatives to promote a healthy workforce and positive role- modeling of healthy behaviors. • The second major event is the Safe Homes Gala and People of Courage Awards held during the first weekend of May each year. For 2016, the event is scheduled for Friday, May 6 at Cyprian Keyes in Boylston. This event includes awards presented to people and organizations that promote a positive and inclusive society for all. Safe Homes is a youth development program for young people ages 14 to 23 who are LGBTQ. It includes a weekly drop-in center offering educational activities, peer support, free counseling and leadership development opportunities.
