28 Worcester Business Journal • Giving Guide 2015 www.wbjournal.com Fruitlands Museum Future Goals Working with a newly completed strategic plan, the Museum's vision drives our goals for the coming year: Fruitlands will be known as a majestic gathering place that builds connections between nature, people and culture. Recognized nationally and loved locally for its engaging exhibitions and programs, the Museum will serve as a catalyst for creativity and the development of curious minds for audiences of all ages. Fruitlands will be a welcoming oasis at the center of a community that will gather to learn, celebrate and renew. Our Core Priorities and Values include: Community, Collections, Excellence, Sustainability and Innovation. We look forward to: 1. Presenting relevant and engaging exhibitions and programs that highlight both our collection areas and the work of contemporary artists. 2. Launching expanded environmental education programs to connect visitors of all ages with the amazing ecology of our Museum campus. 3. Completing facilities planning to support our Core Priorities. 4. Sustaining the work of our engaged and committed board by recruiting new members. 5. Building stronger connections to the communities we serve through partnerships, programs and community celebrations. Fundraising Events/Opportunities • The Farm-to-Fork Dinner at Fruitlands Museum is an annual fundraising event in June that celebrates locally sourced foods prepared by the chef at the Fruitlands Café. The dinner takes place at sunset in the field on the grounds of the Museum and consists of a five-course gourmet meal with wine pairings. Proceeds benefit our education and exhibition programs. • Each fall, Fruitlands Museum partners with the Worcester Center for Crafts to present a juried Craft Festival with 40 professional New England artists. The event takes place under tents on the grounds of the Museum over two days. Admission to the festival includes admission to the Museum and grounds. This fall event attracts more than 2,000 visitors each year from all over New England. • We celebrate the tastes of fall with a Craft Beer Tasting fundraiser in November in our heated tent with its magnificent view of the Nashua River Valley at sunset. Hors d'oeuvres are included with the ticket and various local New England craft breweries will be represented for the tastings. Volunteer Opportunities Volunteers support the Museum's mission and ensure our connection to the communities we serve. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities and time commitments. You can help by giving a day working at a special event, such as our annual Craft Festival or Harvest Weekend, or get more involved by serving as a program volunteer, helping with administrative work, leading nature walks, or assisting with school and public programs. Volunteers who wish to make a deeper impact can do so by joining one of our Museum Committees, which have monthly or quarterly meetings. Giving Opportunities There are many ways to give to Fruitlands Museum and each option has a measurable impact on our mission – to inspire and educate through art, nature and history. Membership at Fruitlands Museum provides essential operating support and members get great benefits, including free admission to the Museum, a 10% discount in the shop and café, invitations to special events and our quarterly newsletter. Donors who give $1,000 or more can be a part of the Fruitlands Museum Benefactors' Circle. These donors receive additional membership privileges and invitations to exclusive events, while supporting the Museum's initiatives. Corporate Membership supports our annual operations and includes the benefits of regular membership plus extra perks for employees. Corporate members also receive recognition on our website and in our member newsletters. Businesses receive additional marketing exposure through Corporate Sponsorship of one of our events, programs or exhibitions. Sponsors are recognized on our website, in print materials, communications and social media.
