Celebrate our 100th Anniversary in 2016 by raising community awareness about the pressing and ever-changing needs of girls. 2. Inspire and empower 2,000 local girls to become "strong, smart, and bold" with life-changing experiences and solutions to the unique challenges girls face. The Girls Inc. Experience consists of people, an environment and programming that, together, empower girls to succeed. 3. Increase the proficiency of middle and high school girls in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by serving as a national site for the Girls Inc. "Eureka!®" program and Summer STEM program. 4. Reduce the incidence of violence and bullying among girls by offering research-based violence prevention and anti-bullying programs. 5. Enhance economic empowerment and leadership skills in high school girls by connecting them with professional women volunteers using our research-based Leadership Academy curriculum. Fundraising Events/Opportunities Girls Inc. welcomes event sponsors and volunteers to support various programs throughout the year. This fall, Girls Inc. is hosting the premier leadership and Career Exploration Day: Today's Girls…Tomorrow's Leaders. Network with professional women leaders, empower middle and high school girls, and be inspired by a keynote presentation. Each June, Girls Inc. hosts a College Shower to celebrate the achievements of our graduates and show them that there is a community of supporters rooting for them back at home. To celebrate our 100th anniversary, a Centennial Gala and special alumni events will provide unique opportunities to provide meaningful support. Event sponsors receive opportunities for recognition and visibility in print and electronic event materials and in advertising, signage, and mailings/email blasts. Volunteer Opportunities Girls Inc. of Worcester could not operate without the hundreds of volunteer service hours we receive every year from dedicated individuals. Working directly with girls or "behind the scenes," volunteers enhance the girls' experience with Girls Inc. programs and contribute significantly to helping girls develop into strong, smart and bold individuals. While many of our volunteers are engaged directly through our corporate partners; we offer many individual opportunities for people, including chances to serve as a coach in our leadership programs, be a guest speaker or mentor; assist in our afterschool program or special event; serve on our board or a committee; or partake in a one-time opportunity like Career Exploration Day. We also offer year round internships. If you have a special talent or skill, please consider sharing it with our girls! We are dedicated to placing our volunteers in a job that is a good match for you and for us.
