14 CONNECTICUT GREEN GUIDE • FALL 2015 www.CTGreenGuide.com
Starting Up
Enviro is creating a micro combined
heat and power (CHP) generator
marketed to light industrial and
commercial customers. Cocuzza has
a prototype of his product ready and
received $10,000 from a CTNext com-
petition, $30,000 from the Connecti-
cut Center for Advanced Technology,
and is finalizing a deal with an angel
investor.
Save Money
Enviro doesn't have a price for its
model but is targeting a five-year re-
turn-on-investment for customers,
who save $12,000-$15,000 annually.
Save the Environment
Like all CHP, the unit produces elec-
tricity using energy that has already
been generated to create heat. By
generating electricity at the same
location where it will be used, the
product reduces the amount of en-
ergy used — and lost in transmis-
sion — on the main power grid.
