HEALTH • June 15, 2015 25 [ ACCOLADES & HONORS ] Harrington Hospital in Southbridge was recognized as a top hospital by ratings company Healthgrades in the areas of both patient experience and patient safety. Auburn-based Grove Medical Associates won an Ambulatory Davies Award of Excellence from the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society, based in Chicago. The award recognizes health IT and electronic health record improvements. Grove Medical is an IT client of eClinical Works of Westborough, and is the company's 13th client to win this award. Clinton Hospital was one of three hospitals in Massachusetts to get a five-star rating from Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems, or HCAHPS. HCAHPS surveys include 11 questions surrounding the inpatient experience on matters such as cleanliness of the facility and pain management. Worcester-based Century Homecare was ranked as one of the top performers in the state and No. 2 in Central Massachusetts by Medicare. Hospital re-admission figures are a closely watched measure of performance. Worcester-based Reliant Medical Group was named among the "150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare" by Becker's Hospital Review; and was on a list of "50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America" by Achievers, a workplace recognition program. Moses Z. Makor, a registered nurse with Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, has been named a Tenet Hero by Tenet Healthcare, the hospital's parent company. This month Makor travels to Liberia with a UMass Medical Center team to care for Ebola patients. A native of Liberia, Makor has set up local education panels, raised $12,000 for critical supplies and brought together healthcare professionals and community leaders on the disease. Southbridge-based Harrington HealthCare System was recognized by the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission for accomplishments regarding the Community Hospital Acceleration, Revitalization and Transformation Investment Program. The program's goal is to enhance delivery of care. As part of Phase One, Harrington HealthCare was awarded $491,600 for redesign of its behavioral health system. UMass Memorial Clinton Hospital achieved ISO certification, the first hospital in Mass. to earn the quality management system accreditation, which is better known in the manufacturing industry. Reliant Medical Group of Worcester was re-accredited in the adult thoracic area of echocardiography by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission. The accreditation means that an expert panel has reviewed Reliant's operational and technical components. Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center was given the bronze Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living. The program honors care centers nationwide that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality care for seniors and those with disabilities. Greater Worcester Community Foundation presented its 11th annual Renaissance Award to Frances Anthes, president and CEO of the Family Health Center of Worcester.
