He was formerly general manager of advanced development at Panasonic Liquid Crystal Display Co. Matsukawa is a liquid crystal display (LCD) expert with more than 30 years of experience, and holds more than 190 patents and patents pending. He previously worked as R&D manager of the LCD business division of Matsushita Electric Industry Co. (formerly Panasonic) and as cell division manager of Toshiba Matsushita Display Co. Bay State Savings Bank corporators CAROL A. GAROFOLI and WILLIAM J. FAY were named bank directors, and EUGENE A. DEGRE, JOHN M. HEALD, JENNIFER J. HYLTON, STEPHEN F. MADAUS, FRANCIS J. TRAPASSO and MARK SMILEY were named corporators. Garofoli is director of operations at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Fay is a funeral director at Fay Brothers Inc., of West Boylston. Degre is president of Killeen Machine Tool Co. Inc. Heald is a partner with Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors of Shrewsbury. Hylton is executive director and clinical psychologist at the Worcester-based Counseling & Assessment Clinic. Madaus is a partner with the law firm Mirick O'Connell. Trapasso is owner of the Worcester-based constable and process-serving business Trapassso & Associates. Smiley is president and principal of Managed Wealth Strategies in Northborough. IT firm Versatile of Marlborough hired JEFF BUSCHOW as a solutions architect. He will consult with customers and provide end network design, in addition to directing IT programs, projects and departments, and managing technical support teams. Buschow formerly worked for Sirius Computer Solutions, CCD Systems and Bluesocket. Based in Florida, he will serve markets all over the country. Versatile also promoted ANGELA OLESEN SEGGIE and MARY BETH JOKELA. Seggie was promoted to vice president of alliances and marketing. She was previously director of alliances and marketing. Seggie holds a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of New Hampshire, and an MBA from Rivier University in Nashua, N.H. Jokela was promoted to vice president of operations and finance. She was previously director of operations, and had also served as a financial consultant for the company. Jokela holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bentley University and an MBA from Nichols College. MARK DASSONI and JON FETHERSTON were named members of the Ashland Redevelopment Authority. Dassoni was chosen for the five-year term completed by David Beaudoin. Fetherston was elected to fill the remaining year of a five-year term left vacant by Enzo Scolara, vice chair and secretary, who moved to Hopkinton. JOHN MESSURI was hired by Ross Mortgage Co., with offices in Leominster and Westborough, as vice president and regional sales manager. He has over 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, previously owning one of the largest broker firms in New England. CAROL C. RYERSON was hired as senior principal advisor of regulatory affairs for the Regulatory and Clinical Research Institute (RCRI), a consulting firm supporting medical product developers. Ryerson has 30 years of experience in the medical device field. She has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross, and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from MIT. MICHAEL BORDENCA of Holden and DENISE KEMMITT of Hubbardston have new positions with Workers' Credit Union's new branch, in Westford. Bordenca was hired as an assistant vice president and branch manager. He was previously a branch manager with Citizens Bank. Kemmitt was promoted to assistant branch manager. She joined the credit union as a teller, and was most recently a financial service representative in the Lunenburg office. The credit union is based in Fitchburg. JENNIFER CONRAD, senior vice president at Fidelity Bank in Leominster, has been named to lead the bank's small-business initiative. She will mentor, coach and support branch staff and lead the servicing of small business clients. Conrad joined Fidelity in 2007 and has more than 16 years of banking experience. Conrad, a graduate of Assumption College and a Worcester resident, was a WBJ 40 Under Forty recipient in 2012. DONNA CHABOT, LISA PROUTY and TRAVIS PERRY were all promoted by Millbury Federal Credit Union, and JOYCE CORMIER was appointed to serve on the board of Security First Mortgage Funding, a wholly owned subsidiary of the credit union. Chabot, of Sutton, is now assistant vice president and operations officer. She has been with the credit union for 23 years. Prouty, of Auburn, is now deposit operations officer. She has been employed at the credit union for 20 years, serving in various capacities in the branches and as operations department supervisor. Perry is now vice president and commercial loan officer. He has been employed by the credit union for four years as a relationship manager and credit analyst for MCU Commercial Services. Cormier is vice president and controller. ANITA MORRIS was named director of practice transformation in the Office of Healthcare Innovation and Quality, a division of Commonwealth Medicine at UMass Medical School in Worcester. In 2001, she joined East Boston Neighborhood Health Center and served as chief operations officer from 2012 to 2014. Morris then began a consulting practice, and has been working as a consultant at Lowell Community Health Center. She continues her clinical practice in the chronic disease education and management department at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center. Morris — a bilingual health-care provider —graduated from McGill University with a bachelor's degree in history.
