Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington recently recognized its top volunteer contributors, including Patricia Kilkenney, Eugene Martineau, Nye Mosher, Trudy Dawson, Bonnie Slater, Francis Slater, Alvin McDonald, Lawrence Wilbur, Brian Hand and Craig Viotto. In addition, 85 volunteers received cer- tifi cates in recognition of their eff orts. Hampton Inn Lewiston-Auburn recently received Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Certifi cation by the U.S. Green Building Council. Cumberland County Emergency Management Agency received national recognition from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Offi ce of Emergency Management, Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response as the recipient of the 2015 Outstanding Medical Reserve Corps Housing Organization. BerryDunn, an accounting and consult- ing fi rm in Portland, was recognized as one of the top-20 fastest growing fi rms in the nation by Accounting Today. e rating refl ects the fi rm's 20% rev- enue growth compared with the indus- try average of 8.4%. Overall, the fi rm ranks as the 68th largest fi rm in the country, up from 72nd the prior year. United States Environmental Protection Agency recognized three Maine entities at its 2015 Environmental Merit Awards. Pottle's Transportation in Bangor was a Business, Industry, Trade or Professional winner; Environmental Living and Learning for Maine Students, a collaboration of the Ecology School in Saco, Chewonki Outdoor Classroom in Wiscasset, University of Maine 4-H Center at Bryant Pond and University of Maine 4-H Center at Tanglewood in Lincolnville, was honored in the Environmental, Community, Academia & Nonprofi t category; and the University of Southern Maine in Portland was selected as the National WasteWise College/ University, Partner of the Year. Marc Lamontagne was named Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution's A. William Kany Jr. Community Service Award recipient for 2014. Lamontagne, a loan offi cer at the bank, was recognized for his years of service to several organizations and causes in the community and throughout the state. SymQuest Group Inc., an information technology company in Westbrook, was ranked northern New England's No. 1 Managed Services Provider by Penton Technology's eighth annual MSPmentor 501 Global Edition, a list and report identifying the world's top managed service providers. e fi rm ranked 26th worldwide. Kimberly Edgar, a group benefi ts account manager at Allen Insurance and Financial in Camden, obtained her license to sell life, health and other group insurance benefi ts programs in the state of Maine. e fi rm also announced that Sherree Craig, senior account executive in the insured benefi ts division, is now certifi ed through the National Association of Health Underwriters' new professional development course on self-funding. Kate McAleer appeared on the April cover of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council President's Report, a leading third- party certifi er of businesses owned and operated by women. McAleer is the founder of Bixby & Co., a handmade chocolate bar manufac- turer in Rockland. University of Maine student Nadir Yildirim won fi rst place at the 2015 UMaine Business Challenge for cre- ating a company that aims to develop eco-friendly, recyclable and reus- able products for several industries. Yildirim is a student in the Wood Science and Technology Program in the School of Forest Resources.
