The Greater Gardner Chamber of Commerce chose its 2015 Community Awards recipients: Gardner Police Chief Neil Erickson, Citizen of the Year; Matt Ward of inConcert Web Solutions, Business Person of the Year; Chair City Oil, Business of the Year; Alternatives, Community Improvement Award; Brian Tanguay, Sybil Goldberg Arguijo Community Service Award; Stanley W. Herriott, Lifetime Achievement Award; Winchendon 250th Anniversary Committee, Municipal Recognition; and Maureen Horrigan of CompEdge Marketing & Design, Unsung Heroine. Worcester-based Reliant Medical Group was named among the "150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare" by Becker's Hospital Review; and was on a list of "50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America" by Achievers, a workplace recognition program. E.L. Harvey & Sons in Westborough received the Construction & Demolition Recycler of the Year award by the Construction & Demolition Recycling Association in Nashville. Harvey also has a facility in Fitchburg. The company had a construction-and-demolition recycling rate of 76 percent last year. Hudson-based Bryley Systems has appeared on Penton Technology's eighth annual MSPmentor 501 Global Edition, a distinguished list of the world's top 501 managed IT service providers. Rankings are based on such criteria as annual recurring revenues and total revenues. The Devens sustainable housing pilot project won a MassDevelopment Excellence in Sustainability Award. The single-family homes and townhomes at Adams Circle and Bates Street were built by Transformations of Townsend and a Boston firm. Neil McDonough and Maureen R. Gray were among recipients of Bancroft School's Alumni Awards. McDonough, president and CEO of FLEXcon in Spencer, also a school trustee, won the Milton P. Higgins Award for Distinguished Service to the school. Gray, a former faculty member and senior wealth strategist for the Gray Group at UBS Financial Services, won the Robert W. Stoddard Award for Outstanding Community Service. Ashley Newhall, senior experience manager at American Girl Boston Natick, is the winner of the first MetroWest Hospitality Award by the Regional Tourism Councils of Massachusetts. She is a resident of Ashland. The award was given to Newhall for her cooperative efforts with nonprofit organizations. EMSEAL Joint Systems of Westborough, Ace Medical Services of Worcester, H&S Environmental of Westborough, BioSurfaces Inc. of Ashland, and SnapChef Culinary Training and Staffing, with offices in Shrewsbury, were all honored by the Massachusetts Small Business Administration. EMSEAL, which makes expansion joints and pre- compressed sealants, won for Small Business Exporter of the Year. Home health care agency Ace Medical won the Minority Small Business Owner of the Year award. H&S is Woman-Owned Small Business Owner of the Year; and medical device maker BioSurfaces is Microenterprise of the Year. Todd Snopkowski of Holden, founder and president of SnapChef, was named Small Business Person of the Year.
