The contract is with AEP Ohio, a unit of American Electric Power. AEP serves nearly 1.5 million customers in the Buckeye State. Conservation Services Group's other utility clients in the state are Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio, Dayton Power & Light and Columbia Gas of Ohio. Under the deal, CSG will implement an in-home audit program, launch and staff a customer contact center, market services to homeowners, and process incentives. The program covers single-family homes and also has a multi-family component. WORCESTER — The Bridge of Central Massachusetts, a human ser- vices provider, has a new leader: Kenneth J. Bates, who moved over from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Bates was executive director of new business and financial growth at Commonwealth Medicine, part of the medical school. He succeeds Executive Director Barent Walsh, who will stay on as executive director emer- itus and senior clinical consultant for The Bridge, according to a statement from the organization, which serves people with mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, acquired brain injuries and complex family problems. Bates was previously vice president of behavioral health at Advocates in Framingham and director of outpatient services at Spectrum Health Systems in Worcester. Three Central Massachusetts life sci- ences companies will receive nearly $5 million in tax incentives toward the creation of 275 jobs. The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) said its board of directors awarded the money as part of $19 million being given to 11 companies in the industry. The three awards are led by GE Healthcare Life Sciences, which is receiving $3.15 mil- lion as it moves its headquarters to Marlborough from New Jersey. The money will help create 175 jobs, the MLSC said. Quest Diagnostics, also in Marlborough, secured $900,000 in tax incentives, while SMC, a maker of single-use and disposable medical devices with operations in Sterling, landed $500,000, according to a state- ment from the MLSC. Quest and SMC each intend to create 50 jobs.
