Prior to his work in Boston, Erani was medical director for the Joslin Diabetes Center in Houston, Texas. DR. JYOTIKABEN N. PATEL, a psychiatrist, has joined Harrington Outpatient Behavioral Health Services, and will be working with adult patients in offices in Southbridge, Dudley and Charlton. She most recently worked at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester as chief of the psychiatric unit. Patel is also a faculty member at UMass Medical School. She has previously worked as medical director and chief of psychiatry at Westborough State Hospital. Patel completed her residency at West- Ros-Park Mental Health Center in Roslindale and attended medical school in Vadodara, India. REBECCA BIALECKI was hired by Athol-based Heywood Healthcare as vice president for community health. Before joining the senior leadership team, she was an Athol Hospital and Heywood Healthcare trustee. Bialecki most recently served as executive director of the North Quabbin Community Coalition. She is a resident of Orange. Bialecki has a doctorate degree from Harvard University in Cambridge. DR. PATRICK HOOK was hired by Reliant Medical Group of Worcester, joining the division of rheumatology. He will see patients at the North Lake Avenue location. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. Hook completed his internship and residency at UMass Medical School in Worcester. He completed his fellowship in rheumatology at Boston University. Also at Reliant, DR. RACHEL ORLECK- LUBKA and DR. LISA UEBELACKER have joined the organization's department of behavioral medicine as psychologists. Orleck-Lubka will practice at Reliant's Auburn site, while Uebelacker will practice in Milford. Orleck-Lubka received her Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where she also received her master's degree in clinical psychology. She then completed a clinical psychology internship with an at the VA North Texas Healthcare in Dallas, Texas, and a post-doctoral fellowship in primary care behavioral health at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford. Uebelacker received her master's and Ph.D. in psychology from Yale University in New Haven, Conn. She then completed an internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Brown University in Providence. In addition to working at Reliant, she also works at Butler Hospital in Providence, and is associate professor in the departments of psychiatry and human behavior and family medicine at Brown. DR. FREDERIK A. PENNINGS has joined the medical advisory board of AccelSPINE, a maker of medical device products based in Dallas, Texas. He is an assistant professor in the department of neurosurgery at UMass Medical School in Worcester. He also serves as the director of the minimally invasive spine program at UMass Memorial Medical Center. Pennings completed a combined residency-Ph.D. program at the department of neurological surgery of the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He was fellowship trained in spine surgery at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Pennings is a resident of Worcester. BRENDAN O'LEARY was hired by UMass Medical School in Worcester as an executive vice chancellor. He previously worked for Prism Venture Management in Needham, where he served as general partner in charge of the life sciences group. O'Leary also held various roles at IGEN International, a medical diagnostics company. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry and economics from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt., and a doctorate in organic chemistry from MIT. CYNTHIA SNYDER and DEB BAYER have been hired by Oakdale Rehab & Skilled Nursing Center in West Boylston, owned by Oriol Healthcare. Snyder, a registered nurse, is director of nursing services. A Paxton resident, she served as director of nursing services for Kindred Healthcare from 2010 to 2013. Bayer, of Northbridge, is the new director of dining services. Suffolk University. W. PATRICK HUGHES, president and CEO of Fallon Health of Worcester, was named chair of the Massachusetts Association of Health Plans (MAHP). MICHAELA RICHARDSON was hired by Grove Medical Associates of Auburn. A registered nurse, she will serve as a nurse practitioner. For the past 10 years, Richardson worked at the Saint Vincent Hospital emergency room in Worcester. ROBERT E. JOHNSON, president of Becker College, has been named to the Saint Vincent Hospital Board of Trustees. Meanwhile, DR. GARY KEILSON, a board member for the Worcester hospital since 2009, has taken on the role of board chairman, while KATHRYN HUNTER has been named vice chair. Their appointments also took effect Jan. 1. DR. CHRISTIAN M. CARROLL, an integrative chiropractor, was hired by Groton Wellness. He is also a holistic physician and has experience with internal medicine, functional physiology and rehab, homeopathy and nutrition. Carroll holds a doctor of chiropractic degree from the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Ill. KENNETH J. BATES was appointed president and CEO of The Bridge of Central Massachusetts, which serves those with mental health challenges, developmental disabilities and other needs. The role was previously occupied by Barent Walsh, executive director, who is stepping into the position of executive director emeritus and senior clinical consultant. Bates comes to The Bridge as executive director of new business and financial growth at Commonwealth Medicine at UMass Medical School. He previously worked as vice president of behavioral health at Advocates in Framingham and as director of outpatient services at Spectrum Health Systems. A native of Worcester, Bates is a Worcester State University graduate. He went on to earn his master's degree in counseling psychology from Assumption College in Worcester.H Urologist DR.
