Bus, rail projects aim
to change the way
the state commutes
By Katie Bucaccio
C
ommuting in Connecti-
cut often means getting
stuck: stuck in traffic
congestion on I-84 or I-95, stuck
during delays on the Metro-
North, stuck waiting for CT
Transit buses in Hartford.
This year, however, the state
is making big strides to get
more commuters on the move.
The Connecticut Department
of Transportation has multiple
projects in the works, repre-
senting a shift in focus away
from highways and bridges
Joe McGee, vice
president of public
policy and programs
at the Business Council
of Fairfield County, has
advocated for improvements
to the New Haven Line in order
to relieve congestion on I-95.
