Cleaning
Algae
By John A. Lahtinen
A
s he was operating his
handyman business a
few years back, Josh Sca-
vetta noticed many homeown-
ers faced with the problem of al-
gae, lichen, and moss destroying
their roofs, but no one offering a
cleaning service locally.
To take advantage of the
hole in the market, Scavetta
founded Safe Roof Cleaning to
cleanse all exteriors of roofs
and siding with an new method
of soft washing using 100 per-
cent biodegradable solutions.
"Safe Roof Cleaning was
based on being safe knowing
there are a bunch of unsafe prac-
tices taking place in the cleaning
industry today," Scavetta said.
"Soft wash cleanings last longer,
have no high damaging pressure,
are safe for the environment,
and are cost affective."
Glastonbury insurance
salesman Stanley Zwirn used
Safe Roof Cleaning two years
ago for his home to remove the
problem vegetation.
"It made my house look brand
new," Zwirn said. "I found them
to be honest, quick in completing
the work, and reliable."
