He oversees the finan- cial, administrative, and human resources activities at the organization, guiding COCC's finances through a strong growth period with mini- mal additions to staff and careful scrutiny of com- pany expenses. Christie began his career with Deloitte & Touche LLP and served as the chief financial officer for a manufacturing company and as a partner in the public accounting firm UHY LLC. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, and is the former president of the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut. He won Hartford Business Journal's CFO of the Year Award in 2013. Callie and Rory Gale Callie and Rory Gale co-founded Hartford Prints!, a letterpress studio and stationery store. The duo and their third sister, Addy, make paper in their home city of Hartford. Their letterpress stationery products range from wedding invitations to offbeat greeting cards to urban apparel. With the open- ing of their retail store in down- town Hartford, Hartford Prints! embraces the idea that a com- pany can both make and do good things. T he s t ore strives to be an active space, using the power of the press to create positive vibes about local community. Hartford Prints! was honored as one of the winners of Hartford Business Journal's 2014 Connecticut Family Business Awards. Kristina Newman-Scott Kristina Newman-Scott is the director of marketing, events, and cultural affairs for the city of Hartford. Newman-Scott held the posi- tion of director of visual arts at Real Art Ways in Hartford from 2005-2010. Before returning to Hartford she was the director of programs at the Boston Center for the Arts from 2011-2012. New- man-Scott was recently selected as a creative community fellow by National Arts Strategies. She has been a panelist, visiting curator, and guest lecturer at numerous organiza- tions/institutions across the country includ- ing the School of Visual Arts in New York, Rhode Island School of Design, and Wesleyan University in Middletown. She serves on the board of TheaterWorks, The Hartford Symphony Orchestra, and the Aurora Foundation for Women and Girls. Barrett said she manages her multiple roles by putting in a lot of hours at the office, having a capable staff, and a supportive husband. "You just have to switch gears as best you can and be able to transition," she said. "I owe a lot of thanks to my accounting team members at Data Management and Infinity for their tremendous help these past 18 months or so." Barrett lives in Unionville with her husband, Dave Barrett, and is an active member of the Farmington Rotary Club. She is also a board member of Hartford's Camp Courant. She has two grown sons. "The nice thing about Robin is she really does epitomize what we're trying to have as our culture," Hincks said. "She's just extreme- ly affirmative, very devoted to our associates, and extremely hard working. Bedard has led fundraising events for the UnitedHealthcare Chil- dren's Foundation, a nonprofit that provides families with grants of up to $5,000 to help pay for a child's healthcare treatments that are not fully covered by a health insurance plan. He is also a leader outside of the company. He has mentored students at High School Inc. in Hartford, taught classes at Capital Community College, is a member of the Greater Hartford Arts Council's board of directors, and is a catechist and parish council member at his church. Inspired by his son Matt, who is deaf, Bedard also supports the Hear Here Hartford Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America. As the chair of the Connecticut Insurance and Financial Services cluster, he has also collaborated across the industry on public policy, community engagement and workforce development.
