It's an evolving art form that captures pets in quiet repose, the effects of Mother Nature (both good and bad) and gatherings of friends and family whether they are spread out on a picnic blanket listening to the excellent jazz emanating from the stage at Bushnell Park or celebrat- ing one of life's milestones. In addition to being an area of great natural beauty, Greater Hartford also showcases its beauty in its architecture both modern and historical. The Travelers Building is an icon of our skyline that continues to challenge and inspire photographers to capture from different perspectives. The Ancient Burial Ground, often overlooked by passersby, also has a reverence and elegance that call out to be captured for preservation. The Wadsworth Atheneum, the country's oldest art museum, continues its relevance to art lovers as it undergoes a major renovation and expansion of its gallery space. It is but just one example of the many museums that dot Greater Hartford's landscape. Nook Farm hosts museums celebrating the Hartford lives of Mark Twain and Harriett Beecher Stowe. To the west is the Noah Webster House in West Hartford that weaves a historical tale of the man responsible for first chronicling the American language. Slip even more to the west to Bristol where time is celebrated by the tick of a time piece and the sweep of a second hand at the American Watch & Clock Museum. Education subtly gets administered among children's sense of explora- tion also in Bristol at the delightful Imagine Nation that encourages the whimsical curiosity of children as does the whimsical Kids City in Middletown where children can explore and watch model trains in motion from a track side view among other special treats.
