Today, Goodwin is continuing its forward progres- sion, having recently opened its first magnet high school — The Connecticut River Academy — with a second high school and an early childhood magnet school slated to open soon. With these new initiatives, Goodwin seeks to apply the same mission and innova- tive approaches that have been proven at the college level to younger students, providing cutting-edge, job- focused training combined with strong academics. Also on the horizon is the continued development of the River Campus, with planners now weighing the possibility of adding student housing and new class- room buildings to support the school's growing enroll- ment. New academic focuses are being developed to meet market needs, including the development of envi- ronmental science programs and a new degree-com- pletion program for working professionals.
