When life throws emergencies at people, we do not expect them to handle the crisis alone. The basic needs of food, clothing or shelter must be met during emergencies if we expect people to rebound well and get back on their feet. MACC Charities has over 40 years of experience and enough community partners to come alongside our neighbors during their time of need. If you believe in this mission, we invite you to join us. fundraisinG events/opportunities MACC has year-round giving opportunities. Individuals and groups are encouraged to join us. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We partner with them to carry out seasonal events that raise both awareness and financial support for the important work that MACC does to ease the needs of people in emergency situations by advocating for and providing the basic needs of food, clothing and shelter during their time of need. Listed here are our Annual Events: Winter: Season of Sharing, Souper Bowl Sunday (annual food drive on Super Bowl Sunday) Spring: "Cups Overflowing" — Soup Tasting at the Army-Navy Club sponsored by Soroptimists. Annual Todd Abitz Memorial Golf Tournament Summer: SUMMERSTOCK Event (stock the pantry event during the summer) and a Back to School Drive Fall: CROP WALK (supports both local and global hunger programs) Manchester High School Music Department Benefit Concert to support the community emergency fund, Emergency of Hunger Food Drive sponsored by The Rotary Club of Manchester and Community Partners and "Face Need" a Community engagement event that spotlights our community youth's expression of the face of need as they interpret it through art. Engagement Opportunities: Please contact Nathan Oldham, Community Engagement Coordinator at 860.647.8003 x 26 or noldham@macc-ct.org for a tour of MACC or to join in a discussion of ways you, your business, civic or faith group can engage in helping others through MACC Charities. Board of directors " " T he need is great. I've spent 16 years providing good, nutritious, hot meals at MACC. I am glad to help people. For some, it the only meal of the day. It is also nice to see people no longer need the soup kitchen. I'm very fortunate to be able to meet people who need a meal, serve the community and work with volunteers. It's all together, like a big family. I'm proud of it. – carmen matos , Community Kitchen Coordinator (1998-2014) volunteers help prepare a lunch meal for the MaCC Community Kitchen.
