Providing education for a child not only educates that child but also educates future generations. FACS truly understands the importance of this and believes that every child has value, dignity and potential, and every student deserves a quality education. Our Trustees are deeply committed to the success of FACS. They give their time and energy to ensure that FACS will reach its goals and objectives. They not only provide leadership, but also participate in outreach events, mentoring students, attending students sports events and more. Their goal is to help as many children as we can receive a quality education. When they meet with students, their message is simple; they convery that we expect our students to work hard and some day when they are able "pay it forward." Catholic schools have become even more vital in assisting children in today's society, particularly those children in need. These schools have a solid track record of educational excellence. Goals • Raise more funds to provide scholarship assistance to students in the Archdiocese of Hartford. • Reach more potential donors who share the same philosophy regarding the vitality of Catholoc schools and the enormous benefit those schools play in society. • Broaden the diversity in our schools. • Encourage children of all faiths as students in Catholic schools. • Enable students who could not otherwise afford to attend to become members of our school community. • Increase support of our fundraising events in and around the communities in which our 55 Catholic schools are located, in order to help more children have access to a quality education. • Increase focus on planned giving. • Grow our endowment through funding opportunities that will help with operational costs. fundraisinG events/opportunities FACS holds at least three major events annually. Our largest event is the Archbishop's Saint Patrick's Day Breakfast annually held on March 17th in Hartford. For the last several years, 1000 supporters have attended this festive event. The event raises scholarship funds for students in the four Archdiocesan High Schools (Northwest Catholic High School., West Hartford, East Catholic High School, Manchester, St. Paul Catholic High School, Bristol and Sacred Heart High School, Waterbury) as well as several Catholic elementary schools. The awards given have been four year renewable scholarship grants. Secondly, FACS hosts the Archbishop's Columbus Day Breakfast in New Haven, CT to benefit students attending thirteen greater New Haven Catholic elementary schools. This fundraiser helps raise significant funds which are vital to these thirteen schools and FACS is committed to growing this event to reach the numbers of our Hartford event. Each May FACS hosts a wonderful golf event, the FORE FACS Golf Classic. For the last four years this event has been held at the magnificent Shelter Harbor Golf Club in Charlestown, R.I. The proceeds of the event allow us to continue our mission of helping more students in our Archdiocese. The golfers have enjoyed this event immensely and almost 100% of them return each year. We welcome others to join us at this fun event.
