We continue to operate a dynamic organization committed to meeting the needs of a broad range of cultures, assisting more than twenty-four thousand families annually. Under the guidance of an outstanding professional staff, our agency offers scores of varied programs and services to meet the needs of every age group, regardless of religious affiliation or ability to pay, from infants in our early childhood development centers to our senior citizens. We focus on children as our future, families as the backbone of our society, and the elderly as our link to our roots. Goals • Complete and adopt the agency's new strategic plan. • Implementation of updated electronic health record to ensure effective service delivery and coordination. • Expansion of the Institute for the Hispanic Family to support growing needs of the Family Center. • Program relocation of 4 sites to a new center for seamless service delivery and shared resources. • Opening Francis Xavier Plaza/Waterbury supportive housing. fundraisinG events/opportunities The agency has held the Annual Archbishop John F. Whealon Memorial Golf Tournament for more than twenty years to benefit children's programs throughout the Archdiocese of Hartford. There are many sponsorship and advertising opportunities attached to this event that is held in mid-September and is currently located at the Wampanoag Country Club in West Hartford. In addition, the agency annually hosts the Help & Hope Breakfast in mid-December to attract corporate support. The breakfast is scheduled for Friday, December 12, 2014 from 7:30 to 9:00 AM and will be held at the Marriott Hartford Downtown. GivinG opportunities The agency encourages individual gifts during the Annual Appeal at Christmas. Gifts in kind also are very important to the organization and they range from diapers to clothing, cars, furniture and items that would outfit an apartment for a newly arrived refugee family.
