Our story starts in 1973 when a group of
churches decided to make a difference in
the lives of people who needed help
in the greater Manchester area- and what
a difference they made!

A homeless woman came to our emergency shelter in need of help with
serious mental health issues… a few years later we were invited to her
graduation ceremony from college.
A man with an addiction agreed to treatment after jail time and started his
own legitimate business. He now comes to MACC each year with a large
financial donation and a charge to us not to give up on the "hard" people
who are difficult to work with.
A young mother brought her bouncing baby boy into the soup kitchen to
show our cook what good came from the warm and nutritious meals she
enjoyed when she was expecting her first child and her part time job was
not enough to pay her rent and buy food.
MACC is a story of ordinary people falling on hard times
and of extraordinary people bending down to lift them up.
Every name has a story and every story matters.
