Big problems — poverty, joblessness, health disparities — require the collaboration of many organizations. Community Solutions convenes broad, local, multi-sector teams to find solutions to the most complex problems communities face. Our problem solving teams bring a disciplined process to our work with communities, which often have more problem solving resources than they realize. We help them organize those resources more effectively by sharing data and bringing as many local players to the table as possible, including those in need. Goals • We will work alongside residents to implement revitalization efforts in the Northeast neighborhood. These projects aim to improve the health and prosperity of community members and include reactivating public spaces, supporting activity in Keney Park, and creating safer intersections. • Develop solutions for the neighborhood's most medically vulnerable patients in partnership with residents, local nonprofits, corporate partners, and city and state agencies. • Continue the historic adaptive reuse of the Swift Factory site, which will be transformed into a multi-use "hub" for health, learning and job creation efforts. GivinG OppOrtunities Community Solutions gratefully accepts financial contributions from individuals, foundations, and corporations. We work with corporate and civic volunteer groups on neighborhood improvement projects, and welcome in kind contributions of professional expertise. vOlunteer OppOrtunities We invite members of the general public and business community to get involved with our neighborhood initiative in Northeast Hartford. As we make physical improvements throughout the neighborhood, we welcome volunteers to work alongside residents on scheduled projects. Activities may include cleaning up vacant lots, creating community gardens, public art initiatives, and trail-improvement projects. These efforts provide a great opportunity for businesses to engage their employees in experiences that make a visible difference. These opportunities can be tracked on our website and by following us on Twitter.
