EspnW offset the more than 350 tons of carbon emissions generated by air and ground travel to and from the event oct. 8-10 in California. "We were able to identify key inefficiencies across our business and implement necessary improve- ments," said Ken Lisk, president of PEP Lacey. PEP Lacey also utilized the Energy Conscious Blueprint pro- gram, improving energy usage with equipment upgrades throughout its facility. The purchase of six high-ef- ficiency injection molding machines provided more streamlined opera- tions as well as an estimated $61,500 in annual savings. PEP Lacey incor- porated new HVAC systems, climate controls, and high-performance lighting as part of the project. "Companies can gain significant savings and a competitive edge by investing in energy-efficient equip- ment," says Roy Haller, UI direc- tor of commercial and industrial energy service programs. "We're available to help utility customers, step-by-step, providing technical expertise, and strategic recommen- dations custom to their needs." In total, PEP Lacey's partnership with UI helped them secure a com- bined estimated annual savings of $100,000 and more than $100,000 in incentive payments from the Con- necticut Energy Efficiency Fund. Overall, the manufacturer has spent $1.7 million in out-of-pocket costs since 2011 and $2.5 million since it started working with UI..
