CT Eyes Landmark Battery Recycling Law

I
n the upcoming January legislative session, Con-
necticut will seek to become the first state to adopt a
comprehensive battery recycling bill.
The anticipated legislation comes after a June confer-
ence where the heads of the four major battery industry
groups met with officials from the Department of Energy
& Environmental Protection to hash out an agreement
for making the manufacturers and consumers of batter-
ies responsible for their end-of-life disposal.
