In support of the expansion, the state is providing a $20 million loan through the "First Five" program, which provides incen- tives to businesses that create a minimum of 200 new, full-time jobs in the state. If the company invests a minimum of $25 million, it gets fives years to meet the job requirement. NBC Sports Group was unveiled as a "First Five" recipient in 2011. "We think the state is doing a tre- mendous job," Landau said. "e financial support of [the] 'First Five' program and the local support provided by the city are two of the reasons why NBC Sports Group chose to build a new facility in Stamford. Many companies have already realized the value proposition of setting up business in Connecticut, and we expect more to do the same." In the coming years, Landau says, NBC Sports Group is hoping to continue to grow its workforce and presence in Stamford. "We are excited to be here, and we look forward to being a part of the continued growth in the state and the sports media industry," he said. ❑ NBC Sports' Stamford Campus By the Numbers 32 The number of acres the campus occupies. 500 The number of employees that work there. 300,000 The square footage of the buildings on the campus. 1,200 The miles of broadcast and network cable in the building.
