Box 494, Canton, CT 06019 | 860-490-6528 | www.netmarkassociates.com I n its 12 year history NetMark Associates has gone through a lot of changes, always with a focus on what will increase the impact of their customers. Being respon- sive to client needs means constantly being on the lookout for new opportunities. Through an integrated set of services that include strategic clarity, leadership coach- ing and revenue development, NetMark has helped transform dozens of organizations by focusing on their vision and priorities and building accountability around results. NetMark Associates was founded by Gregory Paleologos in 2000 as a consulting business dedicated to the nonprofit sector. Its first cus- tomer was Network CT, a statewide collaboration of Catholic Charities which provided mental health and substance abuse counseling. By 2002, it was time for Greg's wife Dorothy to take the leap and join NetMark, leaving her 30 year career at Aetna behind. Leveraging her background in strategic planning, marketing and leadership development, the NetMark team was able to bring on additional clients and the business continued to grow. Suddenly, they were stopped in their tracks by the news that Greg was diagnosed with an advanced stage of lung cancer. The business kept going even when it meant making con- ference calls from a hospital bed in the living room of their home. Sadly, on February 16, 2004, Greg passed away. There was no time for prolonged mourning as there were customer commitments to meet including a leadership training series through the Connecticut Association of Family Service Agencies, the management of Network CT and consult- ing for their strategic planning clients. A real turning point for the business happened in 2006 when Dorothy participated in a five day Outward Bound experience in the wilderness of Maine as part of a Leadership Greater Hartford program. It was through this experience that Dorothy became friends with Judith Green, another participant in the program. Judith asked Dorothy to provide strategic planning consulting for the nonprofit where she was executive director. A couple of years later Judith became the director of development and marketing for a large organization in Greater Hartford. Dorothy admired Judith's energy and ability to generate revenue and thought that she would surely be a good addition to fuel NetMark's growth. In 2010, Judith took a quantum leap and trained at the Suddes "For Impact" boot camp in Ohio to become a coach for this innovative revenue development method. Judith shares, "It's a natural fit for me as it complements the six years I spent as a top sales manager in the fitness industry." Over a cup of coffee they agreed to team up and Judith joined the NetMark family. Dorothy says, "We heartily agreed that bring- ing her talent and experience to NetMark Associates would increase our ability to meet customer needs." By using proven techniques and a collaborative approach their partnership has dramatically improved the internal capacity of their clients. Hundreds of board members and nonprofit leaders have benefited from NetMark's leadership develop- ment. As Judith says, "Through training and coaching our clients are raising millions of dollars to realize their dreams." In addition, NetMark also offers webinars and seminars through The Alliance for Nonprofit Growth and Opportunity (TANGO), Leadership Greater Hartford, Hartford Public Library and CT Association of Nonprofits. The NetMark approach is working as the client roster continues to expand into all sectors of the nonprofit world. As Dorothy reflects, "It's exciting to see our clients achieve both their vision and financial goals." While their primary commitment con- tinues to be building a better Connecticut, NetMark Associates is partnering with several national organizations as well. Judith is dipping a toe back into the corporate arena as a "For Impact" coach with NetMark's recent engagement with the Hartford Business Journal. It's a remarkable journey — stay tuned!
