Vuona was given the 2014 Fire Chiefs' Leadership in Fire Education Award by the Massachusetts Association of Fire and Safety Educators. He was selected for his work in building safety education programs in businesses, schools and town offices. EMC Corp. of Hopkinton was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency with honors in greenhouse gas (GHG) management. The EPA cited the firm's GHG global reduction goal of 40 percent between 2010 and 2020. (State House News Service) Curtis Industries, a Worcester-based compact vehicle cab enclosure manufacturer, was selected for the 2014 Innovator's Top 10 New Product Award from OEM Off- Highway magazine. Zamore, a professor of biochemistry and molecular pharmacology at UMass Medical School, was named a 2014 Fellow by the National Academy of Inventors for his work with RNA interference.
