Collaborate with an array of state services, organizations and program models to give people in the community maximum choice. 3. Work with hospitals, insurance companies and other health care partners for patients returning home. 4. Increase community awareness of Tri-Valley programs and services. 5. Be known as an excellent place to work and an employer of choice. 6. Grow our skilled volunteer base to better serve the increasingly complex needs of the aging population. 7. Expand fundraising activities, sponsorships and grant writing to increase availability of services in underfunded programs. Fundraising Events/Opportunities March for Meals Campaign each March increases awareness about senior hunger, raises funds for Meals on Wheels, and recruits volunteers. The Annual Food Project in November and December pro- vides four to six weeks of food for at-risk elder clients. In December, Terrazza of Franklin sponsors a Giving Tree, collecting gift cards for clients with serious needs, and Long Subaru, through their "Share the Love," event donates to non-profits (including Meals on Wheels) for new vehicles sold or leased. Volunteer Opportunities Tri-Valley encourages corporate and community partnerships and offers flexible volunteer hours to allow for employee or student participation. Volunteer opportunities include: - Board of Directors, Nutrition Project Council and Money Management Advisory Board help with planning, policies and leadership; - Companion and Friendly Visitors regularly visit homebound elders, offering socialization and assistance with errands and shopping; - Long Term Care Ombudsmen visit and advocate for the residents of long term care facilities; - Money Managers offer monthly support to elders who have difficulty budgeting and paying bills; - Nutrition Site Workers assemble, pack and serve noon time meals at various locations; - Meals on Wheels Drivers deliver meals to homebound elders; - Office Volunteers provide clerical support. Giving Opportunities - Memorial donations and donations in honor of a special person - Planned giving through wills/trusts in consultation with an attorney or financial advisor - Corporate sponsorships, matching gifts and funds for critical needs, such as heating assistance or prescription medication - Donations for Meals on Wheels in the month of March through the March for Meals Campaign - Annual Fund appeal in June mailed to donors and publicized in the agency newsletter - Annual Winter Food Project in November and December Donations in any amount accepted year round to support services for seniors, younger people with disabilities and caregivers and may be made by check or online at www.trivalleyinc.org.
