Future Goals • 8,000 tenants and landlords will receive counseling, education and mediation services to stabilize at-risk tenancies. • 280 families will be assisted with rental and utility arrearages to prevent homelessness and promote long-term housing stability. • CMHA will distribute donations of gently used furniture and household goods to more than 570 families and individuals in need through the Donations Clearinghouse Program. • CMHA's P.O.W.E.R. Program will help homeless families obtain employment and educational advancements to achieve long-term housing and financial stability. • Emergency shelter and wrap-around services will be provided to families for whom prevention is not an option. • 230 families will receive assistance with housing search, placement and stabilization services to achieve long-term stability. • 250 senior homeowners will receive help with routine maintenance, adaptive housing and home repair at no cost, allowing them to remain living independently and safely. • Hundreds of volunteers will engage in collaborative and coordinated projects with local congregations and businesses to end homelessness. Fundraising Events/Opportunities • CMHA's Annual Walk/Run for the Homeless will be held on May 17, 2015 at Elm Park. This celebration will mark its 30th anniversary as CMHA's signature event. Giving opportunities for businesses and individuals include monetary donations, raffle items and volunteer time. For more information please visit www.cmhaonline.org • CMHA's Youth Against Homelessness Program (YAH) will hold its 4th Annual Visions of Change Youth Summit on November 13, 2014 featuring Keynote Speaker Dr. Sampson Davis – author of "We Beat the Streets." • CMHA's Donations Clearinghouse works with congregations, community groups and businesses in holding local household goods and furniture drives. We are happy to bring our truck out to your community for a local drive. Please contact us at (508) 752-5519 ext 105 to coordinate a drive in your town, local congregation or place of business. • Hope for Housing Program is a partnership between CMHA, Faith Based Congregations and local retailers, including Big Y, Hannaford, Panera, Shaws, Stop & Shop and CVS Pharmacies. Gift cards are purchased in bulk by CMHA and are then sold to members of participating congregations at their places of worship. The retailers donate 2-10% of all sales to the Hope for Housing program to assist families at risk of homelessness. Volunteer Opportunities • The Village at Cambridge Street and our other shelter programs welcome volunteers from the community who can donate time to assist with activities in our family shelters. • Personal Opportunities for Work, Education, and Renewal (P.O.W.E.R.) welcomes volunteers who can use their skills and knowledge to assist program participants move to self- sufficiency in budgetary and financial literacy training or prepare for job interviews. • Our Annual Walk/Run for Homelessness is always in need of volunteers to help with fundraising and organization of logistics for the event. • CMHA's Donations Clearinghouse coordinates with congregations, community groups and businesses in holding local household goods and furniture drives.
