Future Goals Center for Living & Working Inc. is a consumer-driven, consumer-directed Independent Living Center with a mandate that at least 50% of our board members and 50% of our staff are individuals with a disability. Some of our goals for the next year are: • Increase public awareness of Disability Rights • Promote the development of accessible housing • Recruit additional dynamic board members • Further assist individuals transitioning from institutional-like facilities to more independent living • Promote self-directed health care through Independent Living - Long Term Services and Supports (IL-LTSS) Coordination • Expand the current Transition to Adulthood program for youth aged 14+ to further promote self advocacy and independence Fundraising Events/Opportunities Center for Living & Working will celebrate our 40th anniversary October 2015. We are looking for committee members and volunteers to help make this a worthy celebration. Our 40th Anniversary Celebration can be supported through corporate and individual event sponsorship, donations toward our auction (favorite items include weekend getaways, sports events, theater tickets, restaurant and evening out gift certificates, etc.), ticket purchase and attendance at the event. Volunteer Opportunities There are a number of ways in which members of the community can support CLW: • Serve as a member of our advisory council • Assist with the 40th Anniversary event • Offer project specific assistance, such as helping with mass mailings • Serve as an intern • Partner with CLW in making your business a summer internship site for one of our consumers Giving Opportunities Donations are gratefully accepted year-round at Center for Living & Working Inc., 484 Main St., Suite 345, Worcester MA 01608. We also accept secure online donations through our web site at www.centerlw.org CLW is looking for community partners to provide summer internship opportunities to the young adults participating in our summer vocational program. After being hospitalized and undergoing rehabilitation, I went home, believing my life was over. I lived under "the medical model" until CLW changed my life. The services they provided gave me back my independence and life.
