The BioGenerator employs BioSurfaces' patented technol- ogy and stem cells derived from adult bone marrow at WPI. The device is a capsule that can be stitched into the heart-muscle wall or injected. The encased stem cells release proteins and growth factors, stimulating tissue growth and damage repair. WORCESTER — The law firm of Fletcher Tilton, with offices in Worcester and Framingham, began 2015 by absorbing Hudson-based Yates Law Offices into its operations. The merger took effect Jan. 1, with the move expanding the reach of both firms, according to a statement by Fletcher Tilton. Yates, founded in 2002, offers services in areas that include real estate, civil litigation, immigration, business formation and commercial real estate matters. Fletcher Tilton was established nearly 200 years ago. The lawyers from the Yates office will pri- marily work out of Fletcher Tilton's Framingham office, although they will maintain a presence in Hudson, according to Fletcher Tilton. WORCESTER — Reliant Medical Group has added another Worcester practice, picking up another 6,000 patients who will be served by the organization, Reliant announced. The Adult Medicine Physicians LLC prac- tice of Drs. Ronald Pantano and Kern Bayard will continue to provide ser- vices at its 385 Grove St. location. The new patients will increase the total number of patients served by Reliant to more than 325,000. WORCESTER — Energy intelligence software provider EnerNOC of Boston has completed its acquisition of World Energy Solutions of Worcester for approximately $77 million in cash, the company said. The deal had been announced in November, pending a better offer for World Energy. But once the Dec. 30 deadline for a different suitor passed, it cleared the way to complete the buyout by EnerNOC. The acquisition amounts to $5.50 per share of World Energy stock, and the assump- tion of debt, which altogether totals $77 million, according to EnerNOC. World Energy brokers electricity, natu- ral gas and environmental commodi- ties transactions. World Energy employs more than 100, although a company spokesperson declined to comment on how the acquisition will impact operations in Worcester. FRAMINGHAM — Office products retailer Staples of Framingham has reached an agreement on a multiyear contract extension with CommerceHub of Albany, N.Y., which helps companies deliver their orders, according to a statement from Staples.
