Cardiac Surgery to CMHVI
The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) has recognized the
Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute cardiac surgery
program with its highest rating – three stars. Only 10 to 15
percent of heart surgery programs nationwide earn this honor.
The STS comprehensive rating system compares
the quality of cardiac surgery at some 750
hospitals in the U.S. CMHVI is among the
top-tier cardiac surgery providers.
The National Quality Forum has endorsed the
STS quality measurement program.
