Our comprehensive health care services include: f Clinics – specialized multi-disciplinary MDA medical care clinics are funded for our families at Maine Medical Center in Portland and Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. f MDA Summer Camp – a barrier-free week of fun, friendship and laughter for kids. e MDA of Maine hosts the "Best Week of the Year" at Camp Waban in Sanford, Maine. f Research – continue cutting-edge scientific investigations seeking treatments and cures for the 43 neuromuscular diseases we cover including ALS, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Spinal Muscle Atrophy. Shamrock mobiles are sold to customers and patrons for $1 and $5 contributions. f the MDA Muscle Walk pays tribute to, and raises funds for, children and adults served by the Muscular Dystrophy Association. e walk is a family- oriented gathering and light exercise for everyone — children, adults, grandparents, students, corporate teams and more. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. f the MDA lock-up is a community event that is a unique and fun way to help local children and adults who live with muscle disease. By being an MDA Jailbird, you'll ask your family, friends and business contacts to make donations to your "bail." e funds raised help MDA in its mission. f the MDA hop-a-thon is a disability awareness, acceptance and education program that teaches children three core values of awareness, acceptance and assistance.
