What started out as a summer camp (Camp Waban), where people with special needs could learn to swim and enjoy lakefront activities, has blossomed into a community- based organization with a broad offering of comprehensive services that reach throughout southern Maine. Over the years, as our services and breadth of knowledge have evolved, our efforts in becoming a high performing organization that balances the effective- ness of high-quality programing with the efficiency of delivering those programs with the least amount of resources have expanded. To that end, as we look at 2015 and beyond, we will be providing and promoting programs and services that are outcome driven, progressive and adaptable to meet existing and future needs of individuals and additionally, recognized and valued for their excellence. In order to accomplish this in ways that are stable, consistent and sustainable, developing and expanding funding sources that are diversified and meet the financial needs of the organization, promote future growth, capitalize on opportunities and safe- guard the comprehensive network of services will continue to be a focus area. funDRAiSinG eventS/oPPoRtunitieS f Waban's signature fundraising event is the Annual Waban telethon.
