Our new facility will allow us the space, services and programs to further our efforts to retrain, rehabilitate and rehome over 4,000 animals annually. Our new facility will feature larger kennel spaces, a humane education classroom, an on-site spay/neuter clinic and a community activities room. We will continue to expand our adoption awareness and humane education efforts in our served communities. We will focus on keeping pets in their homes and encourage the community to think of pets for life. We will continue our discussion of proper pet care, responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of animals with children in our communities. We believe that children are our future and encouraging them to explore empathy, kindness and compassion towards pets will have a positive impact on the future of sheltering in our community. funDRAiSinG eventS/oPPoRtunitieS We host three major fundraising events each year: f Our June auction, An Animal Affair, is our largest fundraiser featuring a silent and live auction to raise much-needed revenue to support our facil- ity through our peak season. f Our annual family fun day, Paws in the Park, will celebrate its 18th year in September. Paws in the Park draws hundreds of humans and canines to cel- ebrate the animal-human bond with a day of fun and festivities. Highlights of the day include agility demonstrations, canine contests, raffles and features local vendors and animal rescue groups. f Our holiday Craft fair and open house kicks the holiday season off with tails wagging. Held in early December, this event includes handmade items from local artisans, Christmas trees and wreaths, pet photos with Santa and lots of holiday cheer. Corporate support and community engagement are critical to the success of our events and fundraisers. Please visit arlgp.org for a full list of upcoming events and community activities. GivinG oPPoRtunitieS f Our new facility will become a reality through our future fund campaign. Learn more about the Future Fund and our vision for a new facility at www.arlgp.org/futurefund. f Direct-mail appeals in January, March, June, October and December, as well as giving opportunities online and in-person. f In-kind donations of shelter supplies and pet food to assist with daily opera- tions and animal care are always welcome. f Corporate sponsorships of ARLGP events are available, which present for- profits an opportunity for high-visibility and community engagement. f Cage sponsorships provide community members an opportunity to name an animal kennel at the ARLGP and provide funds for the care and treatment of the animals it houses. f Off-site adoption locations are needed to host our adoptable felines to encour- age pet adoption in our community and increase our visibility. volunteeR oPPoRtunitieS f Our Shelter helpers team has over 200 volunteers who assist with our daily animal care activities such as dog walking, cage cleaning, grooming, socializ- ing and feeding. Volunteers are always needed in this capacity. f Our front end friends assist with events, fundraisers, marketing, administra- tive tasks and more – everything behind the scenes to help our shelter run smoothly and efficiently. f Our foster Care network is always in need of caring and devoted fami- lies able to provide animals a home for rest, recuperation, medical care and socialization.
