Movers & Shakers East Hartford jet-engine maker Pratt & Whitney has named Jill Albertelli president, effective Jan. 1, 2027, succeeding Shane Eddy, who is retiring. Albertelli most recently led Pratt's Mili- tary Engines business, overseeing work on the F135 engine. She has spent more than 30 years with the company in engineering, manufacturing and other leadership roles. She holds an engineering degree from Boston University and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Eddy, president since 2022, will remain with parent company RTX through March 2027 as a special adviser. Judy Marks, chair and CEO of Farming- ton-based elevator and escalator manufacturer Otis, plans to retire in the first half of 2027. The company said it is searching for her successor. Marks joined Otis as president in 2017, became CEO in 2019 and led its spinoff from United Technologies in 2020. She became chair in 2022. Marks will remain in her current role through July 31, 2027, or serve as a senior adviser through that date if a successor starts sooner. Torrington Savings Bank has named Devin Obedzinski senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, and Chris Pugliano senior vice president and chief risk officer. Obedzinski will oversee finance and treasury operations, succeeding Jennifer Marchand, who is transi- tioning to chief operating officer. He previously led finance and facilities at Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union and held finance leadership roles at Farm Credit East and United Bank. He holds a business admin- istration degree from the University of Connecticut. Pugliano fills a newly created position overseeing enterprise risk management. He most recently served as a case manager with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., evaluating banks' financial condition, governance and compliance. Pugliano holds an MBA from Bryant University and a bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics from St. Lawrence University. Fairfield University has extended President Mark R. Nemec's contract through June 2036, keeping him at the helm of the private university for another 10 years. Nemec has served as president since 2017. During his tenure, total enroll- ment has increased nearly 38%, according to the university. He has overseen campus invest- ments, including a new business school building and arena, and expansion beyond Fairfield through a two-year associate degree program in Bridgeport and academic programs in Texas and China. Yale New Haven Health, a five-hos- pital system, has named Dr. Daniel del Portal executive vice president and chief clinical officer. He joins from Temple University Health System, where he was senior vice president of medical operations and system chief clinical officer. His new responsibilities include clinical quality, patient safety and over- sight of pharmacy, laboratory and imaging services. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Temple University. PhiloSmith & Co., a Stamford investment bank specializing in insurance and financial services, has promoted Andrew Yazmer to partner and managing director. The Simsbury native joined the firm in 2019 after working as an actuary at John Hancock and an investment banker at Sandler O'Neill. He advises insurance and financial services companies on mergers, acquisitions and other strategic transactions. Yazmer holds a bachelor's degree in business economics from Brown University. Orthopedic Associates of Hartford has added four orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Nicholas J. Bellas specializes in trauma and fractures. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Connecticut and a trauma fellowship at Denver Health. Dr. Colin J. Burgess, a sports medicine specialist, completed his residency at Northwell Health and the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and a fellowship at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia. Dr. Barrett B. Torre specializes in hip and knee replacement. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at UConn and an adult reconstruction fellowship at Dart- mouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Dr. Robert L. Zondervan treats hand, wrist, forearm and elbow conditions.
