Elkus | Manfredi Architects Plans for Unilever's New Haven innovation center detail $34.7M in state infrastructure support P lans filed for Unilever's proposed New Haven innovation center call for a nearly 253,000-square-foot building and $34.7 million in state funding for tunnels, plazas and other public infrastructure. Unilever announced the $270 million project in May. It plans to occupy about 100,000 square feet in the building at 2 Church St., replacing its long- time research and development facility in Trumbull. Winstanley Enterprises will develop the building. The project is part of New Haven's Quantum and Life Sciences Innovation Cluster, which was awarded $50.5 million in state support in 2025. The building will also include space for a quantum science organization, potentially QuantumCT. Windsor Federal plans to sell former HQ for redevelopment Windsor Federal Bank plans to sell its former downtown headquarters and two nearby properties to Wind- sor-based developer GRAVA Properties. The sale is pending due diligence. GRAVA owner Greg Vaca said he is considering a restaurant and several apartments in the vacant former bank building at 250 Broad St. He also envisions a new building with about 15 to 20 apartments on an adjoining lot. A third property would provide parking. Windsor Federal moved its headquar- ters to 270 Broad St. in 2024. GRAVA is also nearing completion of Founders Square, a $35 million project elsewhere in Windsor Center with 120 apartments and retail space. Apparel brand relocating Stamford HQ Apparel brand Rhone plans to move its headquarters from 1 Dock St. in Stamford to the top two floors of 300 Atlantic St. downtown. The company has leased more than 40,000 square feet in the building and expects more than 150 employees to work there after the move, planned for summer 2027. Contributed Photo South Carolina manufacturer plans $3M investment in Berlin facility A South Carolina-based manufacturer plans to invest $3 million in its Berlin facility to add production lines for a U.S. Navy program led by Lockheed Martin. TIGHITCO said the work, tied to a 10-year, $500 million contract, is expected to create at least 20 jobs. The production lines will support the Navy's Long Endurance Electronic Decoy program, which uses unmanned vehicles to draw fire away from ships by mimicking their radar signals. A $500,000 grant from Connecticut's Strategic Supply Chain Initiative will support the investment.
