Expand our school-based services so Day One becomes a real part of behavioral health care in school districts across southern and central Maine. f Renovate our Windham staff offices – the same space that once treated youth in foster care before our 2020 merger with SMART Child & Family Services. f We've hit our goal of industry-competitive pay and bene- fits, and we're still recruiting broadly for a wider range of thought and talent. f Keep raising our visibility and our fundraising dollars. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES f We send annual appeal letters to supporters and seek business support to offset event costs. Day One is one of this year's Maine Marathon beneficiaries, and we're host- ing a silent and live auction on October 17th featuring a guest speaker's lived experience and a youth-made video paired with original live music. f Event sponsorship supports our mission and the people we serve. f Giving Tuesday campaign f Community Nights at local restaurants. f We utilize all aspects of social media to share our mission and seek support. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES Community support is what closes the gap between what we can offer and what our neighbors need. You can give one-time or monthly at day-one.org/donate/, or talk to us about grants, match- ing gifts, major gifts, or including Day One in your estate plans. Right now, our biggest in-kind need is a standby generator for our girls' residential home in Windham — Maine storms knock out power more than you'd think, and we can't let that interrupt treatment for kids who are counting on us. We're grateful every day for our partnership with Maine DHHS and the steady support of United Way of Southern Maine. Come meet us — we'll show you exactly what your support makes possible. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Accepting volunteers from the community for services related to substance use and behavioral health presents significant chal- lenges due to strict federal privacy regulations. As a result, orga- nizations must carefully limit volunteer involvement to ensure compliance and to maintain the trust and safety of those in our care. However, whether it is a one-time project, or a recur- ring opportunity you are seeking, there are ways for you or your organization to serve Day One clients.
